| The 1st Asia-Pacific Heart Rhythm Society Scientific Session (APHRS 2008) offers 9 categories and 46 subcategories. Each category offers numerous subcategories to which an author may submit an abstract. The subcategory choice will allow the appropriate APHRS 2008 Review Committee to review this abstract.
While the categories may look familiar, there have been some changes to the subcategories. If you are a returning abstract submitter, please read the list below carefully before choosing the subcategory. |
| |
| Subcategory Descriptions |
Most subcategories are self-descriptive, however below are a few that require more explanation:
Cases
An abstract subcategory for physicians covering case-based abstracts. Submit interesting cases that feature unique physiology; challenging diagnoses; new strategies for patient management; unusual complications or adverse affects, challenging interpretations of ICD/pacemaker function, or innovative technologies that facilitate procedures or patient management. If you are an Allied Professional who wishes to submit a case-based abstract, please see the paragraph below.
Allied Professional: Cases
A subcategory for all case-based abstracts submitted by allied professionals.
Allied Professional: Research Studies
A subcategory for all non-case-based abstract submitted by allied professionals. |

| Brief Submission Guideline |
| Abstract Data |
| • |
Multiple abstracts appearing to be redundant versions of a single study will be rejected. |
| • |
Abstracts are not eligible for consideration if published prior to the 29th Annual Scientific Sessions. No abstract may be presented at the Annual Scientific Sessions if it is substantially similar to material presented or to be presented at a major meeting held prior to the Annual Scientific Sessions. |
| • |
Individuals who have submitted abstracts to other major meetings and are awaiting notification of acceptance may also submit abstracts to the Heart Rhythm Society for consideration for the 29th Annual Scientific Sessions; however, upon acceptance from another organization, it is the responsibility of the author to notify the Heart Rhythm Society office by Wednesday, 15 October 2008 to withdraw the abstract. |
| • |
The Committee endorses the position of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in requiring assurances of the responsible use of animals in research (AAAS Resolution: Use of Animals in Research, Testing, and Education). All submissions must be in compliance with these guidelines. |
| • |
Any human experimentation must conform to the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki of the World Medical Association (WMA Declaration of Helsinki). |
| • |
The Presenting Author must ensure that all co-authors are familiar with the data, agree with the stated results, and have agreed to be included as authors. |
| • |
Upon the abstract’s acceptance, authors will be asked to read and comply with the Heart Rhythm Society’s Release and Authorization for Audio Tapes/CD-ROMs, Webcasts, and Enduring Products. |
|
| |
| Abstract Format |
